What Is The Cost Of Dental Veneers?
Hi, it’s Dr Wendy here from Oralux Dental.
This morning, I overheard a conversation our practice manager had with a patient over the phone about the price of dental veneers. So I thought it would be a good idea to make a video about it, and the factors that impact the final treatment price.
Veneers are thin covers that are bonded to the front of your teeth. Veneers can be used to alter the colour, lengths, size, and the shape of your teeth. And can cost anywhere from four to twenty five hundred dollars each.
The type of veneer being placed. Dental veneers can be done with either resin or with porcelain. The former is done directly in the office. It is more cost effective and quicker, but may not last as long as porcelain veneer, which is handcrafted in the laboratory by a dental technician. In addition to longevity, porcelain veneers often give long aesthetically pleasing results. They are less prone to chipping and staining.
The operators and technicians involved in making the dental veneers. Placing a dental veneer is an art form. We need to consider the shape, the colour, the position of the tooth, and also the teeth around it, so that we can make a dental veneer that blends in with its surrounding, and looks almost undetectable. It requires a lot of experience, and artistic skill to make veneers to look like a natural tooth. So the mastery of the technician, and how realistic the porcelain veneer looks will have a big impact on the price.
A good way to know that is to simply visit their website or better, the actual lab to see what results they have achieved in the past.
It also matters whether any try ins have been done prior to the actual veneers procedure. Here at Oralux Dental, we usually do a 3D mockup, sort of like a trial run. So you can have an idea of what it may look like at the end. It also gives you the opportunity to further customise your veneers to your needs by telling us what you like, and what you do not like. In addition, it also allows us, the clinicians, to know how much tooth structure needs to be reduced to achieve the results you desire, whilst being extremely conservative with your natural tooth structure. This extra preparation might cost more time, but it is essential for both clinician and you to share the same vision.
I hope this video helps you to understand what makes up the cost of a dental veneers procedure. If you’re considering your own smile transformation, we would love to look after you.
