An accident can sometimes result in a knocked-out tooth, and the emergency is apparent, but other times, you may not know why you have been experiencing pain or discomfort. Oralux Dental is here to help.
Common Dental Emergencies
What to Do in the Event of a Dental Emergency?
Tooth, Teeth, or Jaw Pain
If you are experiencing severe and lasting pain in your tooth or jaw, it’s time to contact us immediately. It is especially true if the pain is accompanied by facial swelling, fever, a bad taste in your mouth or difficulty swallowing.
Signs and symptoms such as these may indicate tooth decay, exposed tooth dentin, a worn-out tooth structure from grinding your teeth, a cracked filling and more. These symptoms may also suggest that an infection is present, and you’ll need a dentist to examine your mouth and provide immediate treatment.
Knocked Out Tooth
Cracked or fractured tooth
Tooth Abscess
If you have a gum boil, contact us immediately and do not poke or pop the bump.
Facial Swelling
Control pain with over-the-counter medication, and use a cold compress to help control the swelling. Seek prompt dental treatment.
